Ajax striker Miralem Sulejmani has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery. The 23-year-old underwent a procedure on his left knee after he sustained an injury during his 150th club appearance in the 4-1 win over Roda JC last Sunday. The operation is set to leave the Serbian out of action for four months and is a big blow for the Eredivisie side, who are currently fourth in the league standings and will now finish the season without their top goalscorer. A statement on the club's official website said: "On Wednesday, Miralem Sulejmani has undergone an arthroscopy on his left knee. During this operation the damage to the outside of the meniscus of his knee has also been restored. "The Serbian striker is at least four months off making a full recovery. As a result of his injury, the earliest he could return to the side is next season."
