AC Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini has been ruled out for "two or three weeks" after sustaining a shoulder injury in Tuesday's 2-2 draw with FC Barcelona, but there is better news regarding Kevin-Prince Boateng. Ambrosini suffered the knock after replacing Boateng in the 33rd minute at the Camp Nou as Milan earned an impressive share of the Group H spoils. The 34-year-old finished the game, but is likely to miss the Rossoneri's next UEFA Champions League outing against FK Viktoria Plze? on 28 September after scans confirmed damage to his right shoulder. Boateng should be back by then, however, after learning his hip injury is not as bad as initially feared.
