Chargers WR Vincent Brown out 8 weeks

The San Diego Chargers said wide receiver Vincent Brown could be back for the second half of the season following weekend ankle surgery. Brown broke his left ankle in Saturday's preseason game against Dallas and will be out for about eight weeks. A source told The San Diego U-T the surgery was less complicated than it could have been because there was only minimal damage to the ligaments in Brown's ankle. The Chargers decided to keep Brown on their 53-man roster while he recovers and spread the workload among six receivers expected to make the final cut.
