Real Madrid midfielder Angel di Maria is set to miss Argentina's upcoming FIFA World Cup™ qualifiers after tearing a thigh muscle in Sunday's 7-1 league win over Osasuna, the Primera Liga leaders confirmed on Monday. Real have not said for how long the Argentine will be absent but the Spanish press have reported that this type of injury would usually require a month's layoff. The 23-year-old suffered the injured just after half time as he raced to try and pick up a ball which was on its way out of play. Argentina's two FIFA World Cup qualifiers are against Boliva on Friday and Colombia on 15 November.
