London - Arabstoday

Ladislav Kuna, a Slovak midfielder capped 47 times by the former Czechoslovakia, died today at the age of 64, his old club Spartak Trnava has revealed on its website. Kuna, who played at the 1970 FIFA World Cup Mexico™, scored nine goals in 47 internationals. He spent most of his career with Spartak Trnava, who he led to the European Cup semi-finals against Ajax in 1969. In the same year, he became the Footballer of the Year in Czechoslovakia, which peacefully split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1993. In 1971, Kuna played alongside the likes of Bobby Charlton and Gerd Muller in a world stars team against the Soviet Union in a farewell game for the legendary goalkeeper Lev Yashin.
