Aston Villa midfielder Chris Herd will miss Australia's friendly international with Scotland after sustaining a thigh strain. The 23-year-old has yet to make his senior international debut for the Socceroos and also withdrew from two previous squads due to injury. Herd will not travel with the team to Edinburgh as Australia prepare to face Scotland for the first time since 2000, when Frank Farina's side won 2-0 at Hampden Park. Socceroos coach Holger Osieck has not named a replacement for Wednesday's clash at Easter Road, which is followed by a 2014 FIFA World Cup™ qualifier against Jordan on 11 September. FIFA
