Malaga's Spanish international Joaquin will be sidelined for three weeks after picking up a right thigh injury, his club reported on Wednesday. The winger, who was forced to sit out the 3-1 win over Racing Santander on Monday, is not expected to return to action before the winter break. "According to tests carried out yesterday (Tuesday) he is suffering from an injury to the right thigh quadriceps and will be out for around three weeks," the club announced on their website. The gifted 30-year-old joined Malaga in June on a three year, €4 million deal from Valencia. Malaga are lying fifth in La Liga, on 20 points, 11 behind leaders Real Madrid.
