SSC Napoli midfielder Walter Gargano will miss the UEFA Champions League Group A trip to FC Bayern München on 2 November after suffering a left thigh injury during his side's 0-0 draw at Cagliari Calcio. The Uruguayan international was taken off after 72 minutes of Sunday's Serie A encounter and his injury was confirmed by a scan which the Italian club say could rule him out for a month. The 27-year-old has been ever-present in Napoli's UEFA Champions League campaign and, although definitely sidelined for the visit to Germany, he will hope to return to fitness in time for the potentially decisive home game against Manchester City FC on 22 November. The Partenopei are currently second in their group on five points, two adrift of Bayern at the summit.
