PSV Eindhoven forward Ola Toivonen is facing a long lay-off after tearing a hamstring while on international duty with Sweden this week. The 26-year-old suffered the injury during training on Wednesday ahead of Sweden's FIFA World Cup™ qualifier with Faroe Islands tonight, and PSV's medical staff have confirmed the extent of the damage and that he will require an operation. Following surgery, it is expected Toivonen will be sidelined for six months, the Eredivisie club said on their website today. A statement on www.psv.nl read: "For optimal recovery of this injury, surgery is required in the short term. It is expected that a rehabilitation period of around half a year will be necessary." FIFA
