The Serbian centre-back's representative has confirmed that the defender will go under the knife soon and has no doubts that his client will make a 100 per cent recovery.Silvano Martina, agent of Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic, has told Goal.com that the former Serbia international will undergo knee surgery in the next few days. The centre-back ruptured his cruciate ligament after a challenge in United's Champions League clash with Basel earlier this month and will be unavailable for the remainder of the 2011-12 campaign due to the injury."Vidic will be operated upon in the upcoming days. Obviously, rupturing your cruciate ligament is not a small injury, but thanks to the medical progress in recent years it's similar to a meniscus problem some 20 years ago," Martina said."Of course, it will take some time before he returns to the pitch. However, I have no doubts whatsoever that he will recover 100 per cent."The 30-year-old Vidic has made close to 250 official appearances in all competitions for Manchester United since joining them from Spartak Moscow in January 2006.
