Jordan completely supports the international and regional efforts to fight terrorism, said Jordanian King Abdullah II during his meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry in Amman late Wednesday.
Jordan believes that terrorist groups pose great danger to international security and stability, a statement by the the Jordanian Royal Diwan said.
Meanwhile, the meeting discussed the recent developments in the Middle East, mainly the reconstruction of Gaza and the situation in Syria and Iraq.
The King stressed that the Palestinian Cause is the main reason behind conflict in the region and also mentioned the leading role of the US to resume the Palestinian-Israeli talks.
Moreover, King Abdullah noted that peace negotiations between the two sides must address all issues in accordance with the two-state solution, the Arab Peace Initiative and international resolutions.
All efforts must focus on reconstructing Gaza right now, with all the damage caused by the recent Israeli attacks, he said, adding that his country continues to send aid of all types to Palestinians.
Kerry, on his part, showcased the international and regional efforts of the US in fighting terrorism, praising Jordan's work in safeguarding peace and stability around the world, the statement noted.
The meeting came after King Abdullah's meeting with US President Barak Obama during the NATO Summit held in Wales last week.
Kerry had visited Baghdad prior to his arrival in Amman, where he met Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Al-Abbadi as part of his visit to the region aiming to set plans to fight the terrorist group of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
