Iraqi parliamentarian Bader Al Fahel
Baghdad - Arab Today

Iraqi parliamentarian Bader Al Fahel revealed that a number of parliamentarians, loyal to the Sunni Coalition of Iraqi Powers, will form a new bloc aiming to confront the conferences held outside Iraq and to condemn all their recommendations and decisions.

He added, in an interview with “Arabs Today”, that Speaker of Iraqi parliament Mahmoud Al Mashahadany will lead the new bloc, saying that the parliamentarians aspiring to join the new bloc held two meetings to discuss the objectives of the new bloc and the ways to achieve them in the future.

He stressed that they will work to keep the Iraqi decisions and to refuse any foreign interference in the internal affairs. He added that the Iraqi parliamentarians expressed their refusal to the recent conference held in Ankara, saying, “We have reservation over the timing of the conference and its venue.”

He added that the Sunni parliamentarians in Iraq have been elected by the Iraqi people, saying that it is not accepted to talk about the Sunni component without returning to those people who elected them. He added that the timing of the conference raises a large number of questions, saying that it comes during the crash war witnessed in the Iraqi city of Mousl to liberate it from the grip of extremist ISIS group.

He added that the country needs more efforts during the current period to relief the displaced people, saying that the number of displaced persons in Iraq reached to 200 thousand citizens and they need more support from the Iraqi politicians who turned to organize conferences abroad.

He added, “When the military operations started to liberate the city’s left bank, the residents turned to transfer to the right bank. However, the current challenge facing the Iraqi troops is the large number of civilians existed in the right bank of Mousl. The families started to leave the areas of conflict, while the preparations for receiving those displaced people are not enough.

He underlined the importance of the parliamentary role to contain the crisis, saying that the committee follows the developments to refer the formal reports to the parliament, including the basic needs of the displaced people. He stressed the need for a serious role for the government and other international organizations to perform a role to help the displaced people.

He warned, “If the government has not responded to our demands, the Iraqis would face genocide. The government should take serious steps to contain the current crisis witnessed in the country.”
