Chairperson of Egypt's "Mostaqbal Watan" party Ashraf Rashad said that his party views President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi as the future of the country, saying that the clash between the government and the parliament will not achieve the interests of cotizens.
He stressed, in an interview witg "Arabs Today" that the country does not meet full ministerial reshuffle, expressing support for the Egyptian president to take a new presidential term.
The Egyptian politician, who serves as parliamentarian, praised the efforts exerted by the parliament despite increasing criticism. He signalled that it is still in its beginning phase. He added that the parliamentarians do their best to meet the demands of the people.
He stressed that the parliament is not executive authority, saying it works to legislate and supervise the performance of the government. He underlined the accomplishments achieved by the parliament, saying it achieved unprecedented legislations. He blamed the government for the absence of notable results.
However, he added, the current critical conditions do not tolerate any clashes between the government and the parliament, as such clashes would leave negative repercussions on the Egyptian people.
Regarding the agreements that have not been discussed by the parliament, he said that many parliamentarians submitted requests to discuss many issues, including the loan of International Monetary Fund, stressing that they took measures while they still wait the governmental response.
He expressed respect to the judicial verdict over Tiran and Sanafeer critical issue, while the final word will be taken by the parliament. He added that the matter should be decided through formal documents.
He added that he does not know the date of local elections, saying many provinces need to raise its representation in the local councils. He revealed that his party intends to increase the number of its candidates during this elections.
He denies what raised over the decline of his party's popularity, saying it is one of the most popular parties in the Egyptian street.
