Egyptian parliamentarian Alaa Waly, head of House of Representatives’ Housing Committee, expressed his reservation on the idea to discuss the rent act in a hasty way, as such a law would leave negative repercussions on the Egyptian citizen during the current critical economic period.
He described the idea to review the rent law as controversial, stressing that it would lead to major economic problem in the lives of Egyptian people. He added, “We realize the current economic situation witnessed in the country due to the increasing prices of basic commodities so we will not pass such a law without serious consideration.”
The Egyptian parliamentarian blamed the Muslim Brotherhood for the rumors circulated over the passage of law in the House of Representatives. He stressed that they will adopt a clear and careful mechanism during the discussions, stressing that they will summon experts from the different governorates to hear to their visions over the issue.
Regarding the ways to achieve economic development, the Egyptian parliamentarian said that the country should depend on industrial development to achieve economic turning point during the coming period. He praised the performance of Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi to underline the governorates marginalized by former presidents.
He signaled to the recent conference that the president held to underline a number of governorate to support tourism, and developments especially in Upper Egypt. He stressed that these governorates need to support investments during the coming period.
He called the government for supporting the infrastructure in different governorates to ease the increasing pressure on the Egyptian capital and other major provinces, stressing the need for creating job opportunities as a major way to resolve the economic crisis in the country.
He praised the governmental approach to depend on Egyptian workers to achieve the projects of the new Administrative Capital, saying that the Egyptian workers perform a major role in building a larg number of projects in the other countries, including Emirates and Germany.
He stressed that dependence on Egyptian workers is necessity during the current period to save the hard currency, saying that this approach also helps the government resolve the unemployment problem. He also appreciated the Egyptian efforts to achieve new Suez Canal project, stressing that the project reflected the strong will of the Egyptian people.
