Unity important to maintain security

Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa has stressed the importance of unity in the face of calls for assassination, bloodshed and chaos.

Unity is important to counter attempts to attack policemen and the army, as well as State utilities and institutions, Gomaa said in a statement on Friday.

Those who act against State security and stability should be tried on charges of high treason, the minister insisted.

Gomaa also stressed the need to monitor foreign funding to some hired elements, who cheaply sell their religion, country, families and humanity.

If those succeed in fooling some people for some time, they won't be able to deceive all people all the time, Gomaa noted.
