Jushua Kimmich broke the deadlock in the 88th minute as Bayern Munich maintained their perfect start into the Bundesliga season with a hard-fought 1-0 at battling SV Hamburg on Saturday.
Kimmich tapped in a cross from Franck Ribery after Bayern had earlier found no opening and were frustrated by Hamburg goalkeeper Rene Adler, dpa reported. Bayern are top of the table with a maximum 15 points from five games, ahead of Borussia Dortmund who have 12 from a 3-1 over Freiburg on Friday.
Eintracht Frankfurt salvaged a last-gasp 3-3 against Hertha Berlin; Borussia Moenchengladbach beat Ingolstadt 2-0; Augsburg defeated 10-man Darmstadt 1-0; and Bayer Leverkusen won 3-2 at Mainz when Javier Hernandez completed a hat-trick in stoppage time.
