The Argentine midfielder admits that defeat in their first game of the league season is not ideal but praises the home team while also looking for reasons for his side's lossInter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso has lamented his team's defeat to Palermo in their opening game of the new Serie A season. The Italian giants lost 4-3 to the Sicilian side at the Renzo Barbera on Sunday evening despite a brace from striker Diego Milito and a goal from Diego Forlan on his league debut. Cambiasso is understandably disappointed with the loss but underlines the quality of Palermo for whom Fabrizio Miccoli proved to be crucial with two goals. "This defeat really hurt and so it should," the 31-year-old is quoted as saying by Inter's official website. "We had settled down on the pitch and then Milito turned on the magic and changed things. "Losing always hurts, not just today because it was the first day of the season. If you could choose who you were going to play in the first match, there's no way you would pick Palermo in that sort of form. Obviously we aren't happy about it but there's no point in crying about it." Trying to find reasons for their loss, the Argentina international explained: "I think the boss Gian Piero Gasperini had one big problem and that is that he was only able to meet us all together for training for a couple of days. Let's hope that this problem will help us work together better in the future." The former River Plate and Real Madrid midfielder continued: "I'm not used to finding excuses, but don't forget that the Copa America was right in the middle of this and then the transfer market involved us in changes up to the very end. "These are factors that influence things too. Palermo were good and they won."
