French veteran Jeannie Longo's husband and coach Patrice Ciprelli is facing disciplinary action following allegations that he bought erythropoietine (EPO) in 2007, the French cycling federation said on Tuesday."Following allegations claiming that Mr Patrice Ciprelli bought Chinese EPO, the FFC has decided to open disciplinary proceedings towards Mr Patrice Ciprelli," the FFC said in a statementThe FFC added that Ciprelli was provisionally suspended.FFC president David Lappartient will hold a press conference at 1500 GMT.French sports daily L'Equipe reported on Tuesday that Ciprelli bought EPO via former US professional Joe Papp, backing up their claim with email exchanges between a supplier based in China, Papp and Ciprelli.They also ran an interview with Papp in which he said he supplied Ciprelli with the banned substance.Ciprelli was also the coach of French rider Edwige Pitel in 2007.Jeannie Longo's lawayer Bruno Ravaz told Reuters by telephone he was still awaiting his client's instructions before making any comment.Longo was selected in the French squad for next week's world championships in Copenhagen.
