The 50-year-old has taken the reigns following the departure of Dietmar Constantini last month, and believes the national team has a bright future aheadFormer Switzerland international Marcel Koller has been named as the new national team coach for Austria, having signed a contract to take charge until December 2013.Following the resignation of Dietmar Constantini in September due to a dissapointing run of results by the national side, the newly appointed coach will be given the task of improving Austria's current form, having failed to qualify for the Euro 2012 finals."We have found a solution that fulfills our requirements," said Austrian Football Association president Leopold Windtner, according to UEFA.com"He [Marcel Koller] is a meticulous worker, always there for the players. He can develop a team and especially players. We were looking for someone with international experience and people skills as well as leadership qualities; a team player who has a positive approach to sports science and medicine - we have found him," he added.Kollerhas backed the Austrian squad to have a successful future, as he believes the team can improve on mistakes made during the Euro 2012 qualifiers."From studying DVDs I can see there are young players with great talent," he beamed."My view is that it was just small details that prevented Austria from qualifying [for UEFA Euro 2012]. They did not take their chances, and in defence individual mistakes cost them."Austria currently sit in fourth place in the group, having recorded two victories in their previous six qualifying matches. Their last victory in the competition was against Azerbaijan in October 2010.Koller will take charge of the national side for the first time on November 15 in a friendly match against Ukraine.
