Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho for once admitted that a referee made a mistake in his side's favor after watching Real Madrid defeat Getafe 4-2 in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Real Madrid had been struggling with the scores level against their local rivals, but in the 59th minute referee Clos Gomez gave a penalty for a challenge on Cristiano Ronaldo, when there had looked to be no contact and the challenge outside of the penalty area. Ronaldo scored from the spot himself and with Getafe forced to open their lines in search of an equalizing goal, Real were able to give the game a more flattering scoreline than their play deserved. Ironically the event happened just days after Mourinho had hinted that there was a campaign against him to ensure his side would not win the title, but he was forced to admit that on this occasion, fate and the referee had smiled on his side. "It wasn't a penalty," said Mourinho, who did, however, insist that it had been a foul. "Cristiano Ronaldo is not a player who dives," said the coach, who was unhappy with his side's display. "I am not pleased with the team, I didn't like the way we played. We scored four goals and could have scored eight, but I am not happy. Getafe could also have scored more goals," he continued. "I am not happy with the feeling that we didn't play well. I want to know why we didn't play well. We had some great build up play and scored good goals, but I am not happy with the game," said Mourinho, who added he would consider making changes for Wednesday's Champions League debut in Zagreb.
