Canadian forward Jarome Iginla became the 19th player in National Hockey League history to score 600 goals as the Colorado Avalanche beat the Los Angeles Kings 4-1.
Iginla got No. 600 at 13:02 of the third period when his pass to the front of the net bounced off the skate of Kings defenceman Jake Muzzin and past goaltender Jhonas Enroth to give Colorado a three-goal lead.
The 38-year-old right winger was mobbed by his teammates on the ice and got a standing ovation from Colorado's Pepsi Center crowd.
Iginla is just the second active player to have reached the milestone behind Florida Panthers forward Jaromir Jagr, who has 735.
In 40 games this season, Iginla has 11 goals and 21 points. He had gone scoreless in three games since getting 599 against Arizona on December 27.
Defenceman Tyson Barrie had two goals and two assists, and centre Matt Duchene had a goal and assist for the Avalanche, who snapped the Kings' five-game win streak. Goaltender Semyon Varlamov stopped 30 shots.
Iginla, who spent his first 16 seasons in the league with the Calgary Flames, won gold medals with Canada in two Olympic ice hockey tournaments in Vancouver (2010) and Salt Lake City (2002).
