Dubai - Arabstoday

The UAE claimed their second medal in as many days as teenager Wafa Sulaiman Al Kindi took equestrian silver at the 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Athens on Wednesday. This was the UAE’s second medal at the Summer Games following Sultan Saif Al Khaili’s gold medal in the boys Prix Caprilli on Tuesday. The UAE’s third rider Mohammad Zubair Al Tajjar – a silver medalist at the 2007 Summer Games in Shanghai - was unfortunate to be disqualified after his horse refused to jump the hurdles. The UAE has sent just four riders for the equestrian competition and Aisha Saif Al Dhaheri will be competing tomorrow [Thursday]. “I am over the moon with this effort. I expect these riders to go far in the future,” Head Instructor Lilian Sternvad told Gulf News from Athens.
