Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr said he is yet to decide whether the team will seek to chase down the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls' regular season record after clinching home-court advantage for the NBA playoffs.

The Warriors downed the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday to improve to 70-9 and need three wins from their final three games to surpass the Bulls' record of 72 wins in a single season.

However Kerr admitted the he was caught in two minds about whether to use the final three matches to rest key players for the post-season -- or go all out for a place in basketball history.

Kerr said he plans to hold a discussion with members of the team to agree on a strategy for the remainder of the regular season.

"We're going to talk about it," Kerr said.

"We've been putting it off for as long as we were able to, which was until we got the one-seed.

"Now that we have that, I'm inclined to give some guys some rest if they need it, but I've sort of made a pact with the guys that if they are not banged up and they are not tired and if they want to go for this record or whatever then -- so we got to talk."

Harrison Barnes, who contributed 21 points and eight rebounds in Thursday's victory over the Spurs, said he would happily play on for a shot at basketball immortality.

"I'm 23. I've got no problem playing the rest of these games," Barnes said.

The Warriors face two games against the Memphis Grizzlies either side of a rematch with the Spurs in San Antonio on Sunday night.

Warriors talisman Stephen Curry, who chipped in with 27 points on Thursday, meanwhile cautioned that the NBA champions would need to concentrate on execution rather than the record.

Curry was satisfied with the victory over San Antonio, which followed stumbles against Minnesota and Boston in the past week.

"We wanted to come out (against the Spurs) and be able to have the opportunity to show we're a team," Curry said.

"We have three more opportunities to do that, and we'll get ready for the postseason. In the process, if we get three wins, that will be great."
