Government of North Darfur State was officially handed over a position evacuated by the United Nations- African Union Mission in Darfur(UNAMID) in Al-Seraif Locality in North Darfur State within framework of UNAMID Exit Strategy .
Commissioner of Humanitarian Aid in the State, Ibrahim Ahmed Hamid signed the hand-over document on behalf of the State Government and Official of North Darfur Sector assigned for UNAMID.
Commissioner of Al-Seraif Locality, Mohamed Ismail Hamid who attended the hand-over ceremony hailed efforts made by the Mission in the Locality , affirming commitment to use the site for purposes according to directives of the Wali(governor) of the State.
The Commissioner of Humanitarian Aid and representative of the State government congratulated people of the Al- Seraif Locality on achievement of peace, security and stability in their locality in particular and in the State in general, stressing that the State has moved from state of emergency to stages of peace and development .
He called people of Al-Seraif locality to use the site for civilian purposes.
Official of North Darfur Sector at UNAMID, for her part, called for importance of continuation of cooperation with the Mission Civialian Affairs to complete development facilities the mission started to establish them in Al-Seraif Locality.
