Law enforcement forces affiliated to the Third Field Army continued their anti-terrorism combat in central Sinai for the second week in a row in cooperation with the Egyptian Air Force.
The Third Field Army forces continued their combing and raid operations to clear terrorist hideouts in the mountainous areas.
During the operation, the army killed 14 takfiris, destroyed five booby-trapped vehicles and a motorbike as well as a number of warehouses and shelters used by the terrorists to store weapons and ammunition, communication devices and living means.
The troops discovered 2,000 liters of diesel and 1,000 kilograms of mariguana in a mountainous warehouse.
Also, the army troops arrested 10 wanted and suspected elements, seized four vehicles and six unlicensed motorbikes and defused 10 explosive charges that were prepared to target security forces in Sinai.
The security forces, assigned with securing a number of crossings for the Third Field Army, foiled an attempt to smuggle a number of drilling machines and materials used in manufacturing of explosives loaded in a truck before crossing Ahmed Hamdy tunnel.
The Third Field Army asserted that it would continue its strict measures to secure central Sinai and hunt down takfiri elements and cut off roads of their supplies.
