5 Suicides elements killed in qualitative operation carried out by Second Field Army

Military Spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Samir said Sunday the Second Field Army carried out a qualitative operation that resulted in the killing of five terrorist elements in northern Sinai.

In a statement, the military spokesman said the operation comes as part of the army's efforts to control the security situation and hunt down terrorists.

He said the Second Field Army troops have been preparing a checkpoint in Al Sabkha district in Sheikh Zuweid, northern Sinai when terrorists opened fire on troops which repelled the attack killing five elements.

Two automatic rifles, 94 gunshots and a walkie-talkie device were seized with the terrorists, he added.
