5.5 Magnitude hits N Indian ocean

A moderate earthquake with measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale occurred on Thursday morning in the North Indian Ocean. Malaysia Meteorological Department in a statement said the epicenter is located in North Indian Ocean, 675km Southwest of Great Nicobar, India and 1192 km to the Southwest of Kampar, Perak, according to Malaysia's (BERNAMA) News Agency. No tsunami threat was detected, the statement added.
