An earthquake registering 6 on the Richter scale hit the Turkish Mediterranean resort of Fethiye, Turkey's Kandilli earthquake observatory reported Sunday. There were no immediate reports of any casualties. According to the observatory's live internet feed of regional seismic activity, the quake hit at 3:44 pm local time (1244 GMT) and was centered on the Oludeniz district of Fethiye - a resort popular with tourists from northern Europe. The tremor was felt on the Greek island of Rhodes. 'It was terrible,' Christos Pilatakis, chief executive of a hotel in the resort of Lindos told dpa from Rhodes by phone.
