Commuters started out their day in heavy traffic jams, as road accidents affected multiple areas around Dubai.
The most morning rush-hour congestion was reported in and around International City due to two accidents, and other fender-benders also delayed motorists along the Dubai-Hatta Road, Dubai-Al Ain Road near Silicone Oasis, with one major accident after National Paints in Sharjah heading towards Dubai
Drivers were also faced with tailbacks on roads that are usually hit by morning traffic, including Al Ittihad Road, Beirut Street, Rebat Street, and on Business Bay Bridge.
The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said that unstable weather will also bring about moderate to strong winds, with northeasterly to southeasterly winds in coastal areas that may reach 40km/h at times, with a maximum level of humidity at 90 per cent.
The NCMS also cautioned residents of a chance of light rain over coasts, islands and some northern and eastern areas
