Environment Minister Khaled Fahmy announced that Egypt was entrusted by the African countries to represent them in two initiatives on the new and renewable energy in Africa as well as offering financial resources needed for overcoming consequences of climate change.
The minister's remarks came on the sidelines of the visit of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to New York.
Fahmy underlined that Egypt was entrusted by the African countries during the meeting of the African president's on climate change.
The get-together was led by Sisi on the sidelines of the 70th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.
Egypt will participate, on behalf of the African countries, in the Paris international climate conference slated for November, the minister reiterated.
