A big fire broke out on late Saturday night in a sawmill in the southern German state of Bavaria, causing damage of 1 million euros (1.08 million U.S. dollars), according to local police.
Bavarian Police reported that the fire started in a warehouse and spread to other buildings in the town of Hammelburg in the district of Bad Kissingen.
The firefighters were not able to bring the fire under control until early Sunday morning. Five of them were reported injured.
For the moment, the cause is still unknown.
The northern part of Bavaria is experiencing the driest summer in the past 40 years. Water is being pumped from the south to the north in Bavaria.
