Make sure you carry an umbrella and something to cover your face with if you’re going outdoors on Thursday.
“Thursday’s weather will be partly cloudy with a chance of light to moderate rain over the islands, coastal areas like Dubai, Sharjah, and even the eastern and northern emirates,” a forecaster from the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology told Gulf News. “A low pressure system in the Gulf area may is causing this unsettled weather even as the season transitions to Spring [by next week]. Similar weather is expected on Friday.”
People with respiratory conditions should avoid staying outdoors as it will be windy and dusty. Wind speeds may reach 40km/h over land and 65-70km/h over the sea. “Visibility could be reduced to 1,000 metres in open areas,” the forecaster said.
Temperatures are expected to rise between 1 degrees Celsius to 3C. The temperature in coastal areas will be 30C to 33C, while internal areas may see the mercury reaching 37C.
Both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will be rough on Thursday and Friday with wave heights reaching up to 6 feet, and a maximum of 8 feet at times on Friday.
