A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter scale this morning hit the Banda Sea region of East Indonesia. There have been no reports of high tide or Tsunami. The Malaysian Meteorological Department said the earthquake epicentre is located at 7.2 north latitude, 128.5 east longitude, 1,702 km northeast of Semporna, Sabah Province of Malaysia.
