A forest fire that broke out Tuesday morning is quickly spreading in southwest China's Yunnan Province, local forest fire prevention headquarters said. The fire was spotted around 9 a.m. on a mountain in the Hongta district of Yuxi City, and as of Tuesday afternoon has swept through more than 33 hectares due to strong winds, according to the headquarters. No casualties or property losses have been reported so far. Though flames on the site had been put out as of 11:37 a.m. Thursday, more than 2,000 soldiers and firefighters are still fighting against the fire as embers rekindled because of the strong winds.
