A delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency visited Iran''s nuclear sites last week, the ISNA news agency quoted Iranian ambassador to the IAEA Ali Asghar Soltanieh as saying on Wednesday. "Last week, a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency led by [IAEA Deputy Director General] Herman Nackaerts and his deputies visited Iran''s nuclear sites. The visit came following Iran''s invitation," Soltanieh told ISNA. "They were taken to Bushehr nuclear power plant, Fordo and Natanz enrichment facilities, to Isfahan nuclear installations, including the nuclear fuel rod-making plant, and to Arak heavy water research facility and heavy water production plant," Soltanieh said. The Iranian nuclear envoy said that the visit followed meetings IAEA chief Yukia Amano had with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and the head of Iran''s Atomic Energy Organization Fereydoon Abbasi Davani. "These fundamental steps taken by the Islamic Republic of Iran represent the peaceful nature of its nuclear activities and its transparent nuclear policies," Soltanieh stated. He added that the visit would be reflected favorably in Amano''s next report on the Iranian nuclear program.
