Seoul - Yonhap

President Lee Myung-bak said Thursday that government plans should be "realistic and workable" after officials reported that they would push for a 10 percent mandatory power cut by major manufacturers in the coming winter. Electricity supply has emerged as a concern in South Korea after unseasonably high temperatures in September caused massive power outages that affected more than 6 million homes and led to nearly 9,000 claims, seeking over 60 billion won (US$53 million) in damages.
