A light, magnitude-3.9 earthquake shook the Los Angeles region early Sunday, the US Geological Survey said. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The quake hit at 4:07 am (1107 GMT) at a depth of 6.1 miles (9.9 kilometers), with the epicenter near Culver City and Inglewood in southwest Los Angeles, the USGS said.
The quake was widely felt in the heavily populated area, but "was not big enough to wake up Pasadena," USGS seismologist Lucy Jones noted on Twitter.
A magnitude-3.5 earthquake occurred nearby on April 12.
