The Russian Emergencies Ministry has delivered 30 tons of humanitarian aid to Ecuador hit by a powerful earthquake last week, TASS quoted the ministry as saying on Friday.
"The ministry’s Il-76 aircraft has delivered some 30 tons of humanitarian aid to Ecuador’s capital Quito," the press service said, adding that the cargo contains foodstuffs, mobile power plants and tents.
A 7.8-magnitude quake hit Ecuador’s northwest, claiming more than 600 lives.
A number of South American countries, including Bolivia, Columbia and Venezuela, have already sent rescuers and humanitarian aid to Ecuador.
