Snow, sleet, freezing rain hit New York City

The National Weather Service (NWS) warned of a winter mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain this weekend.
In an alert issued by both the NWS and the New York City Office of Emergency Management have warned of dangerously cold temperatures with snow accumulations prediction of 3 to 5 inches along with a tenth of an inch of ice to cover different areas of the city.
They also warned of snow covered roads coated with ice which will result in hazardous driving and walking".
The alerts and warnings issued in such weather conditions are in order to prepare New Yorkers for slippery roads and limited visibilities.
