South Sudan's Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Jemma Nunu Kumba said Egypt is the only country that attaches great importance to the people of South Sudan.
Egypt met its pledges in supporting development projects in South Sudan, Kumba said.
She said President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is keen on boosting ties and cooperation between Egypt and South Sudan.
Kumba made her comments on the opening session of the joint technical committee for water cooperation.
Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hossam Moghazy said the experts-level meetings of the committee will last for four days.
He said the panel will be convene twice a year in Cairo and Juba in rotation.
