A delegation from the Italian Ragusa province paid, on Wednesday, a visit to the Manouba region to discuss a project of transferring technologies in matters of greenhouse production. The project is part of the European Trans-boundary Co-operation Programme, part of which served to finance Tunisian-Italian projects. The Regional Agriculture and Fisheries Union, the Manouba Regional Agricultural Development Authority, the city of Ragusa, the Ragusa Farm Producers Union and the Sicily Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Sustained Development are taking part in this project. The aim of the project is to exchange expertise and transfer technologies to develop farm production. The project, which costs nearly 740,000 euros (1.4 million Tunisian dinars), consists mainly in creating and equipping pilot greenhouses with advanced technologies, fitting out a space for greenhouse training and an another for exhibiting the produce in Ragusa.
