The number of wildfires in Russia grew over the past day, a representative of the Emergency Situations Ministry told Itar-Tass on Sunday. "The number of wildfires grew by 22, with the fire area increase by more than 2,000 hectares," the source said. In all, 73 wildfires broke out on the area exceeding 3,300 hectares over the past day, and 51 of them were put out. "Currently, Russia has 81 wildfires on almost 400 hectares. Fires are confined on the area of over 4,000 hectares," the source said. The wildfire rate is the highest in Komi, the Arkhangelsk region and Yakutia.
