Arab films revolving around themes of childhood, love and revolution will be competing in this year's Doha Tribeca Film Festival.The second Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF) has announced the films participating in the feature film and documentary competitions.Heading the jury this year is renowned Syrian director Mohamed Mals.Another completion will include awards for best Arab film, best Arab director and best performance in an Arab film, as well as best Arab documentary and best Arab documentary filmmaker. Each award is worth $100,000.The Arab Film Competition will include seven feature films and seven documentary films, which revolve around themes of childhood, love, revolution and the life of Arab women. All films in the festival will be subtitled in Arabic and English.An Egyptian documentary on the life of residents in downtown Cairo by filmmaker Sherif El-Bendary will participate.Khaled El-Haggar’s Al-Shouq (Desire) will also be participating in the competition as well as a documentary that explores the life of Egyptian film star Soad Hosny.
