For one year only the Festival is moving from its usual weekend to make way for the Golden Jubilee and half term celebrations. Top rock and indie names, legendary acts, and rising stars, on a large main stage or the smaller tented stage in a relaxed festival atmosphere. The festival has moved into the fallow Glastonbury weekend. The dates for the eleventh Isle of Wight festival are from Friday 22nd until Sunday 24th June 2012. Line-up Friday night's headliner will be Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers. Saturday it's the turn of Pearl Jam, and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band will headline the Sunday, with Elbow, Biffy Clyro, Noel Gallagher, Jessie J, Magnetic Man, Kelis, Miles Kane, Caro Emerald, Example, The Darkness, Feeder, Professor Green, Wretch 32, Loick Essien, Clement Marfo & the Frontline, Noah & The Whale, The Vaccines, Madness, Crystal Castles, The Charlatans, Tinie Tempah, Band Of Skulls, Labrinth, Joan Armatrading, Groove Armada Present Red Light, Black Stone Cherry, Spector, Zulu Winter, Terry Reid, Brit Floyd, Enter Shikari, Katy B, Ash, Pulled Apart By Horses, Primal Scream, The Pierces, and more confirmed. Payment plan For the first time this year a staged payment option was introduced. This option allowed festival goers to purchase their ticket at the 2011 price but to pay by installments spread out over a period of 5 months in total. The first payment of £50 is taken when the ticket is booked. The second payment of £50 will be taken automatically on 30th January 2012, and the final payment of £75 will be taken automatically on 30th March 2012. This offer was available until 12 noon on 14 October. All Special Needs customers should call Ticket Zone on 0844 499 9955 to purchase tickets. If you are registered disabled your carer is entitled to a free ticket, you need to make Ticket Zone aware of this when you make your purchase. The festival which has a licence for a bigger capacity this year of 90,000 has a large main stage in a natural amphitheatre that showcases well known rock and indie names, a legendary act or two, and rising stars, in a relaxed festival atmosphere. Thursday entertainment Making a return in 2012 is the 5,000 capacity circus style Big Top which plays host to a campers only special night on the Thursday, and acts as a second stage once the festival begins. Away from the Main Stage, is the Big Top, the Acoustic Stage, and the Platform One Bandstand offering unsigned acts and local bands, around 50 acts in all. Opening times The arena is open from 2pm until midnight on the Friday, 11am until midnight on the Saturday, and 11am until 11pm on the Sunday. No bottles, cans, chairs, etc, may be taken into the arena. The Campsites are open from noon on Thursday until noon on Monday. Strawberry Fields is expected to open on Thursday at 6pm until midnight for campers and Festival First Members. Kids Zone The Kids Zone will feature a variety of events, performances and arts & crafts throughout the three days. This year sees the return of the Rainbow Stage, which will feature performances from a variety of storytellers, magicians, musicians, circus acts, and more.
