The inspiration that loomed beneath has finally awakened in Gabriel Guei-Monin leading him to brainchild a poetry book aptly titled “Trous De Coeur,” a repertoire of verses about life in general with the gorgeous French language as the medium. Guei-Monin is a poet whose muses are aroused by certain dimness or brightness of sunlight, the melancholic music whispering in his ears and other things mundane but humane, whose imagination so easily piqued and excited. Few of his poems connote how society crumbles down to pieces should solidarity be removed from it. Nature, such as the bouquet of light or the myriad of water droplets in the sea or the ephemeral quality of time and the beauty of the moonbeam, is also the focal point of the verses so generously personified. Matters of the hearts, be it compassion requited or not, are subjects of some elegies like songs of melancholy. Love lost, regrets and distance from the object of this majestic affection are motifs of other poems. More so it singles out hope and the optimistic tune that despite rejection or angst, actions boil down to repercussion. This poetry is indeed a celebration of life amidst the ocean of sorrow keen in robbing humans of their breaths and taking pleasure in doing so. It discourses the incomprehensible difficulties life progresses into, thereby rising again full of resilience and endurance for more to come. Whether readers are on a happy mood or otherwise, Guei-Monin’s poems are so varied they blend with the mood that is setting in or maximize the admiration a reader has for something. He has mastered the craft of verse that these infinitesimal points of living he has pointed out could actually be subjects of poems that are meant to defy the test of time. Source: PRWEB
