Nearly 40 artistic and folk troupes and 17 poets are taking part in the cultural activities of the National Horse Exhibition, which opened Tuesday in Tiaret (340Km west of Algiers), said Director of Culture Abdelhamid Morsli. The hosting province will be represented by 12 folk troupes and nine others of the genre of ''Halqa,'' which is very widespread locally. Varied cultural and artistic activities are planned in the same time. The Bedoui genre will be high in the programme with a show performed by a Tiaret's troupe, the famous ''MiloudiVialari'' from the region of Tissemssilt. The performance of these folk troupes will be marked by poetical reading of Melhoun, a genre ideally suited to this kind of show. A non-stop evening was planned, on May 23 at Ali-Maachi House of Culture, during which the Rai musical genre will enthral young people.
