Diwan Bookstore in Zamalek will host Egyptian writer Ahdaf Soueif on Tuesday, 15 May, at 7pm to sign and discuss her latest book released by London's Bloomsbury publishing house entitled, 'Cairo: My City, Our Revolution.' The book is her personal account of the first 18 days of last year's Tahrir Square uprising, which culminated in the ouster of longstanding president Hosni Mubarak. Her account is presented chronologically, beginning on the 28 January 2011 "Friday of Rage," as it became popularly known. Soueif is an internationally-acknowledged writer with several well-received books to her name, including 'In the Eye of the Sun' and 'The Map of Love,' the latter of which was shortlisted for the 1999 Booker Prize For Fiction. She is the winner of a number of global literary prizes, the latest of which was the Cavafy Award in 2011. Programme: Tuesday, 15 May, 7pm Diwan Bookstore, Zamalek branch
