Under the auspices His Royal Highness the Crown Prince's son, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, marking the Kingdom's National Day and the Accession Anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Southern Governorate organizes the Opera Carnival. The event is organized under the theme "The Fountain of Welfare" in cooperation with the Southern Area Municipality Council aimed to narrate the history of Honainiya Water Spring whose soft and sweet water once supplied households in the Southern region and all Bahraini areas. The programme includes variety parades, contests, kids' games, productive-family corner, pyrotechnics (i.e. fireworks), etc. The Kuwaiti Oldies Comedian Troupe will perform live. The festival will be organized on Thursday (12 December) at Honainiya Park. Invitation is extended to the general public - both citizens and residents -to celebrate this dear national occasion. The carnival aims to boost the spirit of genuine citizenship and national allegiance in young men and women and to familiarize the new generation with the history of Bahrain, especially Honainiyia Water Fountain which provided its water to citizens all over Bahrain.
