Various productions of Iran’s Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) were exhibited in a festival in Sofia. The Iranian exhibition tried to introduce Iran’s civilization and rich cultural heritage trough presenting the Persian art and culture to the European country's people. Bulgarian children also took part in some workshops in pottery, paintings, puppets and origami. The visitors also enjoyed several programs during which they became acquainted with national Iranian celebrations like Nowruz (Iranian New Year). The festival helped the Bulgarian children learn more about Iran, said Head of the Iranian Studies center at Sofia University Ivo Panov who visited the exhibition. Organized by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) in collaboration with Iran’s Cultural Office in Bulgaria, the festival took place from January 30 to February 2, 2014. Iran had earlier held cultural programs in Bulgaria, in 2012, to mark the 115th anniversary of diplomatic relations between two countries.
