On choosing Baghdad to be the Capital of Arab Culture 2013, Iraq demanded holding an international copyright conference in Iraq. A statement issued on Wednesday, Oct. 3, by the Ministry of Culture said that in the General Assembly of International Copyright Organization held in Geneva, and on making Baghdad the Capital of Arab Culture in 2013, Iraq demanded holding an international conference on copyright in Iraq. It added that Iraq's request made by the Director General of Mamoun Translation and Publishing House, Ala' Abo al-Hasan Ismael, on the side of the General Assembly of the International Copyright Organization held in Geneva.
